DIO (Resurrection #2)

In Greek mythology, Dionysus, the god of wine, was born of fire and nursed by rain, like the hard burning heat that ripens the grapes and the water that keeps the vines alive. For Horton, this is a resurrection of our founder's vision for Virginia wines. Although Dennis Horton had passed when we put this dry blend together, the Hortons felt his presence as each barrel was chosen. Dennis first made this wine over 20 years ago to show off what Touriga grapes were capable of, and we are fortunate enough to have been able to recreate it not only once but twice, as we are now on our second resurrection of this great blend.
